Why You Should Always Update WordPress
WordPress is a very common tool which is installed by plenty of user. This is understandable, since this tool is very powerful and relatively easy to handle. However, Server recommends to keep the WordPress up to date. The reason for that is that the WordPress developers find and fix bugs, add new features, and hunt down security vulnerabilities on a regular basis. Before you get started, it’s a good idea to back up your website. This means if there are any issues you can restore your website. There are several ways how you can make a back up of your WordPress.Complete instructions to make a backup can be found via your Servage control panel can be found here via the Application Installer or via the Filemanager.
Now, you can start with the upgrade. Servage makes it very easy for you to upgrade your WordPress (and other applications which are installed via our application installer). Via our application installer, you can simply push the button “Upgrade” and upgrade your WordPress to the current newest supported version:
- log in to your Servage account
- go to Domains and Websites -> Application Installer
- find the yellow button “Upgrade”
Under Domains and Websites -> Application Installer , you can also check what current version you run if you push the button “Manage” and then choose “Show Info”.
